UN Women invites applicants to submit proposals to support the implementation of the Communications Strategy for the Jordanian National Action Plan (JONAP) for the Implemenattion of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security.
One of the key areas of work for UN Women country office for Jordan is supporting Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW) and other government stakeholders in the security sector in the
implementation of the Jordanian National Action Plan on UNSCR 1325 (JONAP), which was endorsed by the prime minister and the cabinet in December 2017 and formally launched it in a ceremony in March 2018. Since that time JNCW, with the technical support of UN Women, has been working with key stakeholders to establish the JONAP governance and coordination mechanism, finalize the monitoring and evaluation framework, develop the Communication and Advocacy Strategy and support the implementation together with the key line Ministries and national stakeholders.
As part of supporting JONAP’s implementation and establishing the accountability mechanism UN Women has been working with JNCW and JONAP national coalition 1325 to develop the Communications Strategy for the Jordanian National Action Plan (JONAP) for the Implemenattion of the UN Security Council resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. The Strategy outlines the communications approach that contributes to build awareness of and support for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000) on Women, Peace and Security through the Jordan National Action Plan (JONAP) 2019-2021. The Communications Strategy has been developed in a participatory way in close cooperation with JNCW and JONAP national partners in 2018 with technical support of UN Women.
UN Women continues work with JNCW towards implementation of the JONAP and its Communicaitons Strategy on a national level and is selecting the national company experienced in strategic communications, advocacy and visibility, medial outreach, gender, peace and security and other related fields. The selected company will implement a multi-year JONAP’s Communication Strategy (2019-2021) in close cooperation with the UN Women, JNCW, Jordan Media Commission and JONAP national partners.
