Mrs. Anne-Mari Virolainen visited Azraq Refugee Camp on the 9th May, accompanied by UN Women Country Representative Ziad Sheikh. Mrs. Virolaninen joined the women and girls within UN Women Oasis center, the tour highlighted the continuous support and commitment Finland provides to UN Women.

The ICT sector presents tremendous opportunities for women. It’s slated to become a very big chunk of the job market, with an estimated 90 per cent of jobs soon requiring ICT skills. A Syrian refugee living in the Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan since 2013, she found a sense of purpose as she joined UN Women’s cash-for-work programme and started weaving carpets.
