The Oasis of Change: Abeer's Journey towards a Better Future
Abeer Abu-Rizeq, a 48-year-old woman from Jordan and mother of a 13-year-old, faced hardships after her divorce and the amputation of her right foot. Her life changed positively through her involvement with the UN Women-operated Oasis Centre in Madaba. This centre, funded by the European Union Trust Fund ‘Madad’ and in partnership with Jordan's Ministry of Social Development, focuses on empowering vulnerable women.
Ala'a's Path to Resilience and Creativity
Ala’a Al-Kasabreh, a mother of four daughters from Jordan and a housewife, discovered the Oasis centre in Madaba through a friend’s recommendation and proceeded to apply via the available online link.
Jerash Participant Islam Spearheads Civic Engagement in UN Women-ARDD's 'Empowering Each Other' Project
Jerash – Islam, from Jerash Governorate, north of Amman, is one of the participants in the training of trainers activities within the project: "Empowering Each Other: United for Change", a strategic partnership between the Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development (ARDD) and UNWomen Jordan, funded by the European Union, with the aim of providing young women and men with the knowledge and skills to become trained in civic engagement and social protection in their governorates, as well as adopting positive behaviors, raising awareness, and increasing participation among men and women alike.
