7th Edition of Women's Film Week, March 2019.

In response to International Women's Day, UN Women, Jordan, will celebrate its 6th Edition of Women's Film Week. Showcasing a variety of inspirational cinematic documentaries and films throughout the course of the week that adhere to the message of IWD 2018. Movies retrieved from across the globe exhibit compelling stories on women’s empowerment and participation in the social and economic spheres, including men and boys’ role in addressing inequalities and become agents of change.
Innovation, resilience, and courage becomes the embodiment of the produced screenings in this edition of Women's Film Week. Documentaries crafted by exceptional producers including; Jordanian producer Elie Nimri encapsulating the life of two activists including Mrs. Haifa Al-Bashir; Elizabeth Vibert's documentation on the resilience of South African women in 'Thinking Garden'; and Lesley Chilcott's compelling chronicle of young women in the contemporary 'technovation' in 'Codegirl.' Additionally showcasing powerful biographical accounts of innovative leaders including Arunachalam Muruganantham's life in 'Pad Man,' esteemed young athletes in 'Equal Playing Field,' and the accounts of Brazilian homeless and refugees in 'Era O Hotel.'
The Women's film begins with a Launch event, hosted by her Royal Patronage on the 14th March, 2018. The launch event will be followed by the screening of the films in the Rainbow Art Theatre from the 15th-18th March, 2018 to enable the Jordanian public and host communities to appreciate the films.
