15,000 women and girls in Gaza will receive life-saving assistance, as a result of a partnership between UN Women and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO). Supported by the Jordan Armed Forces, the first of three cargo planes left Jordan today for Al-Arish, to deliver much needed humanitarian assistance for women and girls in the Gaza strip.

Muna Al Rfou is the Director of the Gender Unit at the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD). With the support of UN Women and the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), MoSD launched its first action plan to effectively mainstream gender equality and women’s empowerment into national systems and policies. Al Rfou shares how strengthening institutional capacities will enhance services for all communities.
